RETURNING TO YOUR FAILURE- Reflection of the Word!

Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets.” (Luke 5:5)

No one knows how to help you in your times of failure as Jesus does! He will not overlook your shortcoming or simply encourage you to do better the next time. He will give you victory in the midst of your failure. Peter had fished all night without success. His was not just a meager catch; he had caught nothing, even though he was a skilled fisherman. Jesus could have said, “Peter, don’t worry about your empty net. You’ll soon be in a different business anyway.” Instead, Jesus told him to launch out into the deep and to cast out nets for a catch. How humbling it must have been for Peter! Here was a carpenter telling this outspoken fisherman how to fish!

Jesus often gets your undivided attention when you fail. He sometimes takes you back to your place of defeat in order to build something good into your life. You may assume He must not want you to continue because you failed so miserably in your attempt. Perhaps your problem was that you relied on your own strength instead of the Master’s. Maybe you failed in a relationship. Jesus will not allow you to abandon it; He will help you learn from your failure and experience the difference He can make when He guides your relationships. When you try in God’s strength, you may discover that success is indeed within your grasp. If you have recently experienced failure, you may be on the brink of receiving a profound revelation from God!

PRAYER TO OUR LADY ASSUMED INTO HEAVEN

Immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, we believe in your triumphant assumption into heaven where the angels and saints acclaim you as Queen. We join them in praising you and bless the Lord who raised you above all creatures. With them we offer you our devotion and love. We are confident that you watch over our daily efforts and needs, and we take comfort from the faith in the coming resurrection. We look to you, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. After this earthly life, show us Jesus, the blessed fruit of your womb, O kind, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary. Amen.

DO NOT GET DRUNK WITH WINE, BUT BE FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT!

St.Paul writes in the letter to the Ephesians, “Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but be filled with the Spirit, as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 5:18-20)
Yes, this is indeed what God expects and wishes from man, whom He created and shaped out of dust and then blew the breath of life, an unadulterated and clean Spirit, into his nostrils so that he becomes a living being. (cf. Gen 2:7) He created him as a free man in His own image, in His own likeness, so that he may take care of the earth and all its creatures and rule over them. (cf. Gen. 1:29; 2:5, 16) He created mankind as male and female and blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven and all the living creatures that move on earth.” (Gen. 1:28) Whatever He had created was good (cf. Gen. 1:4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25, 31). He gave him a brilliant mind. He gave him wisdom to think, to speak and to do, a positive conscience, and an emotional heart. But He never wanted man to be anyone’s or anything’s slave, anything created by himself or equal to him. What He had expected from man was his reverence, adoration, thanks and praises towards God and his obedience towards the commandments given by God, all inspired by divine love, for his own well-being. But man fell down much lower than His expectations by letting himself become a slave of something which was exceedingly trivial, disgusting, lifeless, unnecessary and unappealing in God’s eyes. He became a slave of his own passions, his own addictions to his own creation, to destructive objects such as to alcohol, drugs et al.
By such kind of slavery, man has poisoned his own body, which is supposed to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. He has absolutely misused the freedom given to him by God; he has failed to obey His commands and knowingly revolted against Him. Man has broken the first commandment by giving something more priority over God and thus has committed idolatry. Man looks for peace, consolation, satisfaction, contentment, love in such lifeless things and bodily pleasures which will in fact, lead him to sin and then death beause the wages of sin is death. What a pity!
Can anything give peace to man except God? Can anything take the place of God and be equal to Him? Can anything be more powerful or blessed or perfect than God? Definitely not. Only God, our Creator and Heavenly Father, can give man the true peace, love and happiness, and quench the thirst of his soul (given by God which has to return to Him whenever called by Him). Lakhs of people are enslaved by alcohol, drugs, bad habits et al and they are unable to escape out of such deadly traps by their own will or strength. The only way out is through God’s grace which can free man from all slavery once man repents and humbly surrenders himself to God’s powerful hands. Thousands have received a new life- a life of grace, peace and love when they submitted themselves to God, heard the powerful and transforming Word of God and admitting their mistakes prayed to God to help them escape out of such slavery. Many have given their testimony on the stage at Jeevan Dham, admitting their slavery, their helplessness and their wretched life, and acknowledging God’s grace and mercy which changed their life and their personality, their outlook and their health (both physical and mental) altogether. They started a new life giving glory to God, thanking Him, singing His praise; a graceful life in the Spirit leading them to perfection and holiness, to eternal life.

Let us read what exactly the Holy Bible says about drinking and such kind of deadly addictions:

“Wine drunk to excess leads to bitterness of spirit, to quarrels and stumbling. Drunkenness increases the anger of a fool to his own hurt, reducing his strength and adding wounds.” (Sirach 31:29-30)
“Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.” (Prov. 20:1)
“Do not be among winebibbers, or among gluttonous eaters of meat; for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe them with rags.” (Prov. 23:20-21)

Let us see how the Bible picturises an alcoholic:

“Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who linger late over wine, those who keep trying mixed wines. Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly. At the last it bites like a serpent, and stings like an adder. Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind utter perverse things. You will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, like one who lies on the top of a mast. “They struck me,” you will say, “but I was not hurt; they beat me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake? I will seek another drink.” (Prov. 23:29-35)
To such people, addicted to alcohol for their pleasure and happiness, Jesus says, “Woe to them”. “But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. Woe to you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who are laughing now, for you will mourn and weep. Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.” (Luke6:24-26)
We can read in the Book of Isaiah, “Ah, you who rise early in the morning in pursuit of strong drink, who linger in the evening to be inflamed by wine, whose feasts consist of lyre and harp, tambourine and flute and wine, but who do not regard the deeds of the Lord, or see the work of his hands! Therefore my people go into exile without knowledge; their nobles are dying of hunger, and their multitude is parched with thirst. Therefore Sheol has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth beyond measure; the nobility of Jerusalem and her multitude go down, her throng and all who exult in her.” (Isaiah 5:11-14)
Not only in the Old Testament, we can read in the letters of St.Paul also, as he says in one of his letters, “Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1Cor. 6:9-10)
Therefore, we can be sure that drunkards won’t be in heaven, because they defiled and poisoned their body and tried to destroy their own life, for which they have no right. Only God gives life and takes it away. Moreover, any unholy thing will not enter heaven, the most holy place where God dwells. So, if you are in the clutches of alcohol, watch out for your place in heaven. You may be just knocking at the heaven’s door, but no one will open. Hence, repent for your sins and reconcile with God, remove all impurities from your heart and be filled with the Holy Spirit received as a precious gift from God in fervent prayer. Get rid of all addictions through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, who promises that, “if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36) and assures that, “You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you.” (John 15:3)

All of us are invited to sainthood, to a life of holiness consecrated to God and for that we need to pray with faith for a special grace, a life in the Holy Spirit yearning for perfection and holiness. Remember, do not delay in turning back to God because you never know what may happen the next moment. The merciful and all-loving God waits anxiously for the return of each and every sinner just like a father waits for the return of his lost son. Yes, this is the day and this is the time for he says,

”At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you.” (2 Cor. 6:2)

NEW BIBLE READING PLANS FOR 2006

The Holy Bible, the Divine
Word of God, the Book of Faith and Revelation, should be read regularly everyday to nourish our Spirit, to strengthen our faith, hope and love, and to guide us at every moment of our life. Last year we had presented you with the 365-Day Bible Reading Plan- covering the whole Bible, with plans corresponding to each month of the year. We believe that, although it was little stretched out, it had benefitted the readers who stuck to the schedule and read the whole Bible within the year. This year we would like to introduce two new plans, viz., the 26-Week (6-month) NT reading Plan and the 52-Week (1 Year) OT reading Plan, which would help you to read the OT and the NT daily (OT in the morning and NT in the evening or vice versa). Hence, starting from this month, we will be providing you with both the reading plans every month. Set apart some time to read the passage everyday (early morning/evening/late night) and try your best to stick to the schedule. You’ll definitely get incredible results.
God Bless You!

A) “...And the TRUTH will set you FREE!” HE GOT FREEDOM FROM EVIL POSSESSION!

Praise be to Jesus! Thanks be to Jesus!
My son Nanak, now 25, was in the clutches of evil spirits for the past 8 years. He used to get up in the sleep and walk around aimlessly. He used to grin and talk to himself. I had to keep a stick in order to keep him inside the house. I took him to several doctors in Delhi, Agra, Aligarh and Bulandshahr. But he got no respite anywhere.
In the past 20 days, his behaviour became more weird and hazardous. He started biting his own hand and eating away the flesh without feeling any pain. The devil inside him had overpowered him to such an extent that I could not help him stop doing this insane work. Blood used to ooze out from the wounds in his both hands. Applying medicine was useless. Then I understood that only the almighty God can do wonders, not medicine. I used to attend the prayer service at Jeevan Dham regularly. So, I brought my son here and prayed for God’s mercy on him and freedom from all evil possession. Through God’s grace, within two weeks, he stopped biting his hands and now his wounds are drying away. The truth of the powerful Word of God set him free from all bondages. Praise the Lord!

“Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name.”(Ps. 91:14-15).

B) THEY GOT RID OF THEIR CONSISTENT BACK PAIN THROUGH THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD!

Praise be to Jesus! Thanks be to Jesus!
I, Surender Kaur (on the left in the picture above), was suffering from acute back pain from the past 4 years. All these years I had relied on medicine and had spent over 60 thousand rupees on treatment. I had difficulty in getting up and bending down. Hence I was unable to do any household work. Last year, I came to know about the healing prayer service held here and got a little hope. The merciful God heard my prayers and healed me gradually. Through His grace, I left taking medicine 3 months ago. Now, I can do all my household work without any pain or discomfort.
I, Sarvela (on right), was suffering from a severe back pain for the past 8 years. I took the treatment from the E.S.I. hospital for 5 years. The doctors gave up at last and concluded that this pain would never ever leave me. My daughter had to do all the daily chores as I was completely bedridden. One day a lady mentioned about the healing prayer service being conducted at Jeevan Dham, Faridabad. Miraculously, I got relief in my back pain on the first Sunday itself. I left taking medicine. Now, after three weeks I am feeling all right. The loving Lord healed me completely. Alleluia!.
