"THANKSGIVING" - Editorial”
"Then one of them, when
he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.
He prostrated himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him. And he was a
Samaritan." (Lk. 17:15 -16)
Thankfulness is foundational to the
Christian life. Thankfulness is a conscious response that comes
from looking beyond our blessings to their source. As Christians,
we have been forgiven, saved from death, and adopted as God’s
children. There could be no better reason for a grateful heart!
Lepers in Jesus’ day were social outcasts. Their highly contagious
condition ostracized them from those they loved. When ten lepers
encountered Jesus, they desperately implored Him to show them mercy.
Jesus sent them to the priest. As they obeyed, they were healed!
Imagine what restrained joy must have filled them as they ran back
home again!
One of the lepers, a Samaritan, stopped and ran back to thank Jesus.
Samaritans were normally shunned by the Jews, but Jesus had healed
him! Jesus asked him, “Where are the others?” Ten lepers
had been healed. Ten lepers were revelling in their newfound health.
But only one considered the Source of that blessing and stopped
to thank and worship the One who had given him back his life.
We, too, have been healed and made whole by the Saviour. We are
free to enjoy the abundant life the Saviour has graciously given
us. Could we, like the nine lepers, rush off so quickly to glory
in our blessings without stopping to thank our Redeemer? God looks
for our thanks. Our worship, prayers, service, and daily life ought
to be sustained with thanksgiving to God. (Phil. 4:6)
As Jesus said the prayer of thanks to His Father before asking for
anything, let us thank God for every grace and gift that we have
obtained, especially during the last year through His mercy and
love, before keeping our needs before Him. |

OVER 10,000 GATHER
TO CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AT JEEVAN DHAM!
A massive crowd gathered at St.Anthony’s School Ground, Sec-9, Faridabad
on December 25, 2005 to celebrate with joy the birth of their Saviour.
After the proclamation of the Word, the melodious Christmas Carols sung
by the choir washed over the ground, and the people were distributed packets
of halwa-poori as they remained seated singing and clapping to the beats
of the carols. The arrival of Santa Claus brought a wave of excitement
among them, as he danced on the stage much to their delight. Through God’s
grace, everything went on peacefully even though there were very few volunteers
and not a single policeman to maintain discipline in the crowd of 10,000.
For all these graces and blessings, we thank and praise God. We also thank
all those who helped us to carry out this programme peacefully, especially
the sisters of St.Anthony’s convent, the halwai and his workers
and the other lay faithful, besides all our volunteers who were involved
in cooking, packing, organizing and distributing the halwa-poori to all.
PRAISE THE LORD!

NEW BIBLE READING PLANS FOR 2006
The Holy Bible, the Divine
Word of God, the Book of Faith and Revelation, should be read regularly
everyday to nourish our Spirit, to strengthen our faith, hope and love,
and to guide us at every moment of our life. Last year we had presented
you with the 365-Day Bible Reading Plan- covering the whole Bible, with
plans corresponding to each month of the year. We believe that, although
it was little stretched out, it had benefitted the readers who stuck to
the schedule and read the whole Bible within the year. This year we would
like to introduce two new plans, viz., the 26-Week (6-month) NT reading
Plan and the 52-Week (1 Year) OT reading Plan, which would help you to
read the OT and the NT daily (OT in the morning and NT in the evening
or vice versa). Hence, starting from this month, we will be providing
you with both the reading plans every month. Set apart some time to read
the passage everyday (early morning/evening/late night) and try your best
to stick to the schedule. You’ll definitely get incredible results.
God Bless You!

A LETTER IN THE PETITION
BOX
I came to know of Jeevan Dham from one of my friends at Faridabad. I
am a convent-educated Hindu girl presently teaching in a private School.
My job as a teacher here, the first one, has given me a lot of tensions
and I have to work here under extreme pressure. Quite often it led to frustrations
in life and many times I felt like quitting this job.
Meanwhile, my friend advised me to have faith in Lord Jesus and told me
to read the prayer book of Jeevan Dham (Naya Jeevan) everyday. Believing
his words, I thought of reading a prayer from the book. To my utter surprise,
it gave me an unexpected relief from all my tensions. For the past 3 months,
I am reading this prayer book everyday to get peace of mind, joy and consolation.
My tensions disappear at once whenever I call the holy name of Jesus, pray
to Him and read this prayer book. I have total faith in Jesus now and I
firmly believe that with His help and grace all my problems can be solved.
I took my father, who is suffering from joint pains (arthritis), to Jeevan
Dham where he got blessings from God and the assurance that he will get
relief from his body pain. Later, he experienced healing and now never complains
of any sort of pain. At present, he is worried about my brother’s
and my marriage. He wishes to come again for the prayer service. Thank you
Lord Jesus for everything you have given me.

A) THROUGH THE POWER OF HIS WORD, GOD FREED THEM ALL FROM LONG-TERM STOMACHACHE
! STOMACH PROBLEMS & TUMOURS GET CURED!
B)
ASTHMATIC FOR 20 YEARS... NOW HEALED BY GOD’S WORD!
Praise be to Jesus! Thanks be to Jesus!
I had breathing problem by birth. When taken to the doctor, he discovered
that my lungs are weak and diagnosed my disease as asthma. I got the homeopathic
treatment for about 10 years at Kolkata. But the relief was only transient,
and the problem shot up again within a few hours of medicine intake. Later,
I took allopathic treatment from our family doctor. He had prohibited
me from taking cold food, fruits, cold drinks et al and to avoid swimming
and other similar activities which could be hazardous to my health. He
had warned me that If I wanted to stay alive, I have to take medicine
all through my life everyday. I had to always keep the tablets in my pocket
wherever I went. I felt it very difficult to travel in a jam-packed bus
or on a bike because either way I felt almost exhausted and short of breath.
I had to wear monkey caps and warm jackets even in mild cold weather.
I had spent over 30 thousand rupees over the last two decades. Yet, no
treatment was effective on me and I had left all hopes of getting cured
from this dreadful disease.
Two months ago my neighbour told me about the healing prayer service held
at Jeevan Dham and I started coming here regularly. The first Sunday itself
I felt relief in my problem. Within a few days, I could breathe easily.
With total faith in God, I left taking medicine. In this winter season,
I tried eating ice creams, fruits et al, travelled on the bike (without
wearing a monkey cap) and in the bus, and nothing seemed to disturb my
breathing. Praise the Lord! During the past 6 weeks, I have never felt
any difficulty in breathing anywhere. This is definitely a great miracle
that God has done in my life. A million thanks to Him, my God and Healer!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his
benefits— who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love
and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your
youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalms 103:2)
